Average Post Reach

Average Post Reach measures the typical number of people who see a single post from the channel. While closely related to average views, reach focuses on unique viewers rather than total view counts (which can include repeat views).

Why it matters

Reach is the foundation for all engagement calculations and the primary metric for advertising value. It tells advertisers exactly how many unique people will likely see their sponsored post. Reach also helps identify the true active audience size.

How to use it

Compare reach to subscriber count — the ratio shows what percentage of subscribers are actually active. Use reach trends to spot seasonal patterns or the impact of posting schedule changes.

Example

A news channel reaches an average of 35,000 unique users per post out of 120,000 subscribers. Advertisers know to expect approximately 35,000 impressions, not 120,000.
