ERR (Engagement Rate by Reach)
ERR (Engagement Rate by Reach) measures how actively people interact with a post relative to its total views. It's calculated as the sum of reactions, comments, and forwards divided by the number of views. A higher ERR means the content resonates well with the audience that actually sees it.
Why it matters
ERR is the most accurate engagement metric for Telegram channels because it accounts for actual reach, not total subscribers. A channel with 100K subscribers but only 10K views per post has a very different engagement dynamic than one where most subscribers actually read. ERR shows the true quality of interaction among active readers.
How to use it
Compare ERR across channels in the same category. An ERR above 5% is excellent, 1-5% is average, and below 1% signals low engagement. When buying ads, prioritize channels with higher ERR — their audience is more likely to react to your content too.
