Member Events

Member events track the daily flow of subscribers joining and leaving a channel. Telagon records these events separately, showing joins, leaves, and the net change. This data reveals the true dynamics behind subscriber count changes.

Why it matters

Net subscriber change can hide important dynamics. A channel gaining 500 subscribers daily might look healthy, but if it's gaining 2,000 and losing 1,500, there's significant churn. High churn suggests content doesn't meet expectations set during acquisition.

How to use it

Calculate the churn rate (leaves / total subscribers per day). Below 0.05% daily is normal. Above 0.1% daily signals a problem. Watch for leave spikes after specific post types to identify content that drives unsubscribes.

Example

A channel with 80K subscribers shows +350 joins and -150 leaves yesterday (net +200). The 0.19% daily churn is slightly elevated. Checking the timeline reveals leaves spiked after an aggressive ad post.
